PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide and melanocortin-receptor agonist, a metabolite of Melanotan II.
Mechanism of action. In research models, PT-141 acts primarily at the MC4R and MC3R receptors within central nervous-system pathways, where it is studied for its influence on sexual-response signaling, distinct from vascular mechanisms.
